⚠️ Key restrictions
🐶 Flat-faced breeds
34 breeds: cargo only
THAI doesn't accept 34 snub-nosed and other dog breeds as checked baggage (anatomy makes them vulnerable to air/temperature changes) — bulldogs (all), boxers (all), pugs (all), Boston terrier, mastiffs (all), Shih Tzu, Pekingese, chow chow, Shar Pei, Cane Corso, pit bull/Staffordshire types, Japanese Chin, King Charles/Cavalier spaniels. These go via THAI Cargo.
🚫 Other rules
IATA container required
The pet must be healthy and not pregnant; provide a leak-proof, disinfected IATA container with food and water.
🐶 Check whether your dog is snub-nosed
Thai Airways refuses brachycephalic (snub-nosed) breeds in the hold. What the airline itself wrote is in the restrictions above — that text alone says which breeds it turns away.
These 22 breeds are MyDogCanFly's own brachycephalic classification, heaviest first — it is not the list published by Thai Airways. Use it to situate your dog, then read the airline's own wording above and confirm with it before booking.
🌡️ Temperature & hold
Temperature-controlled holdNumeric limits: not disclosed
Pets travel in a hold just beneath the cabin described as safe and temperature-controlled; THAI publishes no numeric limit.
